Direction of small & large ensembles of original music and arrangements. Click here for the link to the full live album. A tone poem painted a picture of a shimmering lake and the wildlife therein. A three part suite fused classical and jazz idioms while contemplating the nature of knowledge production. This live performance was later made into a full collaborative feature album. Dance Collaborative

Confessions… from the filter is an multi-disciplinary collaborative performance, choreographed and directed by Jessy Zizzo and featuring the USF dance department. I directed and performed in a jazz trio to provide a semistructured improvisational experience that lended music to the dancers’ prepared performance.

jam sessions

One of my favorite projects was the start of the weekly Funky Buddha Jam Session in Boca Raton, FL, where students and professionals gathered for years to hang, perform and network in an inclusive and laid-back environment. Read about the opening back in 2010 here, before it unfortunately closed due to COVID.

Hard Poetry

This multisensory collection of poems and sounds explores difficult themes of inequality, racism, and classism in American education, ranging from poetry and prose to pop and art song lyrics.

Side by Side

I arranged a show of jazz big band tunes originally performed by Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme into small group arrangements for a vocal duo and rhythm section. The resulting show has toured the United States from Miami to Las Vegas.
